Regenerative Rural Tourism in Bali: Community Capitals and Vulnerabilities
Funding period : 2024- Active
Abstrak
This proposed project will examine the relationship between community capital and the vulnerability of rural tourism in Bali in shaping its regeneration. Two overreaching questions frame this project: 1) How do the availability and access to capital enable regenerative rural tourism in Bali? 2) How does the vulnerability context of village tourism in Bali hinder regenerative rural tourism? The project is grounded in Participatory Action Research and will employ an adapted Photovoice research method augmented with mobile data collection via ESRI Survey123. Two tourism villages with different characteristics will be used as study sites, in which ten participants from each village will be invited to participate in the photovoice project. The findings will help elucidate the roles of community capital and vulnerability contexts in cultivating regenerative goals, specifically in Indonesia.
