Funding period : 2020- Active
Abstrak
Organic salak cultivation in the
village of Sibetan has not been able to prosper farmers because the fruit
produced is purchased by consumers at the same price as non-organic salak fruit
and fruit harvests are seasonal. High fruit production in only a short period
of time due to the nature of seasonal fruiting causes the selling price of
snakefruit is low because the yield processing has not yet developed. Besides
that, the organic salak plantation in Sibetan Village, which is located in a
strategic location with a cool environment, and easily accessible, has not been
developed as an agro-tourism so that farmers get added value from the rapid
development of the Bali tourism sector. Specific goals and targets to be
achieved are that the organic zalacca of Sibetan Village which has not been
profitable in agribusiness can be overcome by educating and providing
assistance to farmers so that organic zalacca can bear fruit throughout the year
(Bujangseta), there is an increase in added value, and organic zalacca
agribusiness can be integrated with tourism activities. Based on the results of the situation
analysis, there are 4 (four) priority programs for the problems of organic
zalacca farmers in Sibetan Village, namely (1) solving the problem of
"seasonal fruit harvesting" with abundant fruit harvesting during the
main harvest and no fruit outside the main harvest season , (2) increase in
added value through processing and diversification of processed products using
fruit raw materials that are not absorbed by the market, rejected fruit, and
by-products / end-products from zalacca cultivation activities such as zalacca
seeds, zalacca skins, and shoot / empol seedlings salak, (3) integration of
organic salak cultivation activities in Sibetan Village with tourism through
the arrangement of gardens and preparation of various attractions for tourists,
and (4) branding of organic salak Sibetan Village and its derivatives in order
to form a strong organic image so that consumers do not mind paying higher
prices high compared to the price of non-organic salak fruit. The method of implementing agreed
upon activities refers to the priority programs that have been established are
through counseling and assistance. Counseling is conducted to educate the
management and members of the Farmer Group, mothers / women farmers and young
generation of family members of the Mitra Farmer Group through material
explanations for each problem item and an explanation of the steps to conduct a
comprehensive activity. Assistance is done to facilitate the transfer of
technology from the community service team to the public so that priority
problem solving is easier and faster. In mentoring, the target audience is actively
and creatively invited to work together (working with community) to solve
problems encountered through the Problem Base Learning (PBL) approach and work
while learning (Learning by Doing / LbD). Each activity item is evaluated
through a questionnaire and the results are used to improve the implementation
of the activity.
