ABSTRACT

The research "Utilizing Municipal Waste as Compost Raw Material in the Effort of Providing Organic Fertilizer to Improve the Quality of Agricultural Land" aims to: determine the effect of variations in media mix and find out the best media mix on the compost produced. An experimental study using a randomized block design (RBD). There were 5 treatments tested including: 1) K0 = 100% municipal waste (without anything except EM4 as a decomposer); 2) K1 = 80% municipal waste + 20% cow dung + EM4; 3) K2 = 60% municipal waste + 20% cow dung + 10% husk charcoal + 2% dolomite + 8% sawdust + EM4; 4) K3 = 40% municipal waste + 40% cow dung + 10% husk charcoal + 2% dolomite + 8 sawdusts + EM4; 5) K4 = 20% municipal waste + 60% cow dung + 10% husk charcoal + 2% dolomite + 8% sawdust + EM4. To determine the effect of the treatment given, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was carried out, and analysis of the differences between treatments was tested with the smallest significant difference test (BNT) at a 5% confidence interval.
