MANGROVE VEGETATION MANAGEMENT IN MERTASARI-SANUR BEACH AREA
Funding period : 2020- Active
Abstrak
Mertasari Beach is one of
the beautiful beach series located in Sanur Village which is now developed as
an attractive tourist attraction. One of the important backgrounds that support
the beauty of this beach is the development of mangrove ecosystems with thick
muddy substrates along the river paths so that it is suitable to grow both true
mangrove and associated mangrove vegetation. Ecologically the existence of
mangroves can function to withstand abrasion and intrusion of sea water
entering the land.
This research aims to
manage mangrove vegetation in the Mersasri Beach area of Sanur, as an effort
to sustainably preserve the beach. All types of mangroves can function
physically and ecologically to coastal areas so that their ecosystem needs to
be maintained in a sustainable manner
This research was
conducted on pure stands of mangrove forests in Sanur's Mertasari Coast Area
with an area of 10 hectares, conducted for 3 months starting in May-July
2020. The sampling method was carried out using the Plotless Methods. Primary
data both vegetation data and environmental data (soil data) were taken at the
observation location, while secondary data (climate data) were taken from the
BMKG City Coordinator in Denpasar. While the data analysis is done by analyzing
vegetation by calculating the parameters of vegetation including: relative
density, relative frequency, relative dominance, Important Value Index,
Diversity Index, Distribution pattern of species, and status of vegetation
types found whether classified as rare or not determined based on government
regulations Republic of Indonesia No. 7 of 1999. While soil data (Texture,
structure, N, P K) were analyzed in the soil science laboratory of the Faculty
of Agriculture Udayana University.
To maintain the balance
of the mangrove ecosystem and the development of tourism in the Mertasari Coast
of Sanur, it is necessary to have an integrated mangrove management effort
between the government and the community
