Nesting ground and Concervation of Cattle Egret (Bubulcus ibis) in Petulu, Ubud, Bali, Indonesia

Abstrak

            Cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis) began to come in the village of Petulu Ubud Bali Indonesia in 1965. In December-March the trees in the village were filled with Cattle egret. The community considers the birds to bring good luck, therefore every six months there is a ritual to pray for the birds.

        The study was conducted for four months, namely December 2019 to March 2020 in Petulu Village, Ubud District, Gianyar Regency, Bali Province, Indonesia. Petulu Village is located at coordinates 8.47330 S; 115. 27510 E, at a height of 400-500 masl. It is 2.33 kmĀ² and has a population of 6,411 people. Cattle egret bird's nest tree is located alongside the village of Petulu, with a length of 1,200 m.
