Abstrak
Development of Animal Husbandry and Health Areas, beef cattle (bali cattle), goats and pigs in Bali Province in an effort to meet the needs of meat for the people of Indonesia. Determination of the development of Bali cattle farms is done considering that Bali is the source of pure bali cows which are the best local Indonesian cattle in terms of production and product quality. Therefore, the development of Bali cattle as a beef cattle is actually potential to be carried out in all regencies in Bali, both in terms of its population in each regency and the potential of available feed sources and its LQ (Location Questions) analysis. Goat livestock are also developed because there are quite a lot of consumers and the potential of forage or plantation crop waste that can be processed into animal feed such as cacao and coffee fruit waste is widely available, but not yet widely utilized. The development of pig farms is a great opportunity in the province of Bali because these animals are widely used in traditional and religious ceremonies for the majority of Hindus in this area.
In accordance with the Decree of the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia Number: 43 / Kpts / PD.410 / 1/2015, the development of these three livestock commodity areas is determined in Buleleng, Karangasem and Klungkung regencies for bali cattle as beef cattle, whereas for goat livestock is developed in Tabanan Regency and Jembrana, and pigs are developed in Badung, Bangli, Gianyar and Denpasar City. But the development of pig farms in Denpasar City is no longer possible because it collided with the City RTRW concerned.
The development of the three areas of livestock commodities above is aimed at increasing the consumption of animal protein which is still below the FAO standard, in addition to the intended target is to increase the income of farmers / ranchers so that their standard of living / welfare increases.
To achieve the expected goals, activities planned for the next five years include; improvement of livestock infrastructure and facilities needed, improvement of human resources (both farmers and assistants from related institutions), intensification of animal feed forage planting in potential areas, marketing of livestock products that better guarantee profits for farmers, increase in capital / investment institutions and increase / infrastructure development for smooth marketing of livestock products (from upstream to downstream) and sapronak needs for farmers themselves (from downstream to upstream).
