SPECIAL TREATMENT OF SOWS THROUGH EARLY WEANING PERIODS
Funding period : 2020- Active
Abstrak
This study aims to determine the optimal time for weaning piglets from so
that the sows can be estrous again. The timing of the weaning will
affect the period of the sows to re-estrous, thus increasing the production
and reproduction efficiency of the sows. Weaning piglets too early can cause a
low conception and negatively affect the number of piglets. Therefore, the
research team of the pigs research group felt that it was necessary to carry
out research to assess the specific efforts made for postnatal sows, one of
which was to regulate the period of weaning piglets, so that later it would be
known the optimal period of weaning piglets with low mortality. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design with three
treatments, namely 30 days weaning (A), 35 days weaning (B), and 40 days
weaning (C). Each treatment consisted of three replications, and each test consisted of
two sows. The variables observed in this study include: litter size, body
weight, estrous, and the performance of the sows and weaning piglets.
