Networking, Accountability of Civil Society Organizations in Bali (CSO Case Study in Tabanan Regency and Jembrana Regency)
Funding period : 2020- Active
Abstrak
Demands for accountability of civil society organizations (CSOs) or formerly referred to as non-governmental organizations in the post-reform period narrowed to forms of institutionalization. This group, which is seen as a non-governmental and non-profit organization, must ultimately be faced with the issue of accountability for its existence and activities to the public. The public referred to in this context are broad stakeholders, both internally, such as administrators, and externally such as communities affected by CSO activities and their donor agencies. This research was carried out departing from the basic question of how is the CSO accountability network in Bali? So far, research related to civil society organizations has focused more on the study of community empowerment performance and communication patterns while there is still minimal research that addresses the accountability side of CSOs. Even though this condition is important to be examined, considering the existence of CSOs and their relation / network patterns, they are still one of the pillars guiding changes and community development. Studying the accountability side also means seeing the consistency of the agenda for the struggle of a civil society organization. By using network theory and social interaction, it is hoped that CSO accountability patterns will be classified in Bali. This research method uses qualitative research with case studies in two CSOs in the Tabanan and Jembrana regions. The choice of two CSOs in these two regions looks at the different levels of complexity of the characteristics of the community including its relationship with the country's formal leadership. Data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation. The analysis will look at the collection of data obtained and analyzed in the portion of network analysis to find the patterns of CSOs in carrying out their accountability side.
