Abstrak

Elections or post-conflict local elections in Indonesia always leave interesting things that are never quiet from the discussion in the study of political science. This happens because the elections or local elections held since the revolving reforms have become an arena for the growth of new political actors, both as institutions, groups, or individuals who happen to have the same desire to control political institutions such as; political parties, parliaments, and regional heads. One such practice is happening in the province of Bali. Initiated by the interests to get positions or important positions in these institutions, until then felt the pleasure of seizing and obtaining these sources of power a number of politicians in Bali used the adat / banjar village as a political tool to pursue power. Three major mass forces in Bali, the three contested political contestants in elections and elections and elections. The three of them, such as Dadia, adat, ormas, were used as a force for mass mobilization in Bali. It can be explained that currently in Bali there has been an alliance between politicians and social social institutions (dadia, adat / banjar, and subak). The strength of this symbiotic mutualism can be traced as the strengthening of the role of community institutions such as the traditional banjar, subak, and dadia in the reform era. That is what a number of politicians did during the election or post-conflict local election in Bali. This research was carried out departing from the basic question of how do politicians make adat an arena of new contestation in elections and post-conflict local elections in the province of Bali? This research method uses qualitative research with case studies in several traditional villages in the Badung and Denpasar areas. Data collection is done by interview, observation, and documentation.
