This study aims to describe the competitiveness of Indonesian human resources in the post-opening era of MEA. Specifically, this study focuses on the traditional bonding challenge in Bali on the professionalism of Bali workers Balinese workers who have customary ties in the place of origin amid the discourse of the invasion of migrant workers from the ASEAN region post MEA. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with interview data collection method, in-depth interview, and literature study. This research is expected to give thought contribution for policy making in improving the quality of human resources of Indonesia especially in Bali without eliminating the essential values that become the identity of Bali. Thus, the people of Bali can still maintain the essence of Balinese tradition without being left behind in international competition, both at the regional level and at the global level.
