Abstrak

Curvularia sp. is a fungi Dermatiaceae or fungi with black pigment that causes various diseases in animals. Increased invasion and proliferation of the Curvularia sp. due to excessive use of chemicals. Therefore, other alternatives are needed in treating fungi diseases, herbal medicines. Trigona honey contains flavonoid and polyphenol compounds because trigona bees can collect nectar from flower parts. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of trigona honey in inhibiting the growth of the Curvularia sp. This research is an experimental study using a completely randomized design with six treatments, trigona honey with concentrations of 20%, 25%, 30% and 100%, positive control and negative control of Curvularia sp. on Sabouraud Dextrose Agar media. The trigona honey was then tested for sensitivity using the wellbore technique on Sabouraud Dextrose Agar media and seen to form an inhibition zone. The formation of barriers around the wellbore that is not overgrown with fungi indicates a positive result and the zone of inhibition can be measured. The data were then analyzed using variance. The results of the study showed that trigona honey concentrations of 20%, 25%, 30% and the negative control did not produce an inhibition zone (0 mm). Trigona honey with 100% concentration produced an inhibition zone of 2,14 mm, while the positive control resulted in an inhibition zone of 5,15 mm. Trigona honey that can inhibit the growth of the fungi Curvularia sp is honey with a concentration of 100%. Keywords: Curvularia sp; inhibition; in vivo; herbal; trigona honey
