Skor Kualitas hidup Dermatologi Berkorelasi Positif Dengan Melasma Area and Saverity Index

Abstrak

Melasma is a common acquired hypermelanotic disease developing especially in the sun-exposed areas of the face. Melasma causes a very disturbing cosmetic problem. This condition often has a major impact on patient’s quality of life such as: decreased social function, productivity and loss of self-confidence. This cross-sectional study was conducted melasma effect on quality of life by using the value of Melasma Area and Severity Index (MASI) associated with Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI). The number of melasma subject that qualify inclusion and exclusion criteria were 46 people, which was obtained from dermatological outpatient clinic, Sanglah Hospital, from August to Desember 2016. Sample were taken by consecutive sampling.The severity of melasma using MASI score was calculated and then filled the DLOI questionnaire. Data were analyzed with SPSS 20 for windows with Spearman-rho. The research subjects consisted of 42 females and 4 male patients. Means age of the patients was 43.9± 6.2. Melasma with centrofasial distribution and mixture type of melasma dominating characteristics of the study subjects. This study found a very strong correlation between DLQI score with MASI score (r = 0.856; p < 0.05). Melasma causes a very large effect on patient’s quality of life. Keywords: DLQI, melasma, MASI
