Abstrak
Child abuse, now more commonly called child maltreatment, defined as being, “All forms of physical and/or emotional ill-treatment, sexual abuse, neglection treatment, resulting in potential harm to the child’s health, survival, and development”. Child abuse is a significant problem that often goes unrecognized until severe injury or death has occurred. Patients initially present with seizures, loss of consciousness and high fever, was suspected to intracranial infection. Based on information from neighbours, patients had experienced physical violence committed by his step mother. After the patient died, an autopsy was performed, it revealed bruises because of blunt violences, obtained pieces of broom stick in the scalp, atrophy of the thymus and also found hematoma on the gingiva. Patients also experienced neglection. The cause of death was blunt force to the head that caused brain swelling and intracranial bleeding. Based on the autopsy results, patients was diagnosed with child physical abuse and neglected.
