Balinese Landscape, Conservation of Traditional Village Pattern in Buahan Village and Its Development

Abstrak
Bali has beautiful environment, unique culture and tradition. There more than sixty Indigenous villages spread across Bali Island mostly located in the highland area. One of this Indigenous village called Bali Aga, is Buahan Village in Kintamani Regency. In the landscape view, Buahan Village is facing linear village pattern with oriented to the hill as main direction of sacred area, and toward to the Batur Lake as impure orientation. This research aims to explore the spatial of the village pattern of Buahan Village including the functions contain in the pattern as conservation of Balinese traditional value. The village cannot avoid the globalization that influence the people in the village to involve in changing. The research results concluded that there are many changing happened, especially in the housing appearance. In fact, the village still maintain a linear that exists in the village. The research conducted a qualitative research. The observation method and interview are used to the relevant figures in the village. This research obtains information both tangible and intangible village aspects including history, custom and tradition, architecture, and the changing that occur in the spatial of the village pattern. The research output can be as a source of information on the existence of Bali Aga villages across Bali Island and as a source of inspiration for further research.
