Studi Kasus Pneumonia Karena Migrasi Larva Toxocara Sp. pada Anjing Basset Hound

Abstrak

ABSTRAK Seekor anjing basset hound bernama Roxy berumur 3 bulan, mengalami masalah pernapasan yaitu batuk dan hidung mengeluarkan eksudat serous. Selain itu anjing kurus dan perut membesar. Pada pemeriksaan fisik saat faring dipalpasi muncul refleks batuk dan hendak mengeluarkan sesuatu dari tenggorokannya serta pada pemeriksaan feses ditemukan telur cacing Toxocara sp. Pemeriksaan hematologi rutin menunjukkan hewan mengalami anemia mikrositik normokromik, leukositosis, limfositosis, dan eosinofilia. Anjing kasus didiagnosis mengalami pneumonia karena migrasi larva cacing Toxocara sp. Pengobatan dengan pemberian Pyrantel pamoat (Combantrin®) 25 mg/ml dengan dosis 5 ml per oral 1 bulan sekali, pengulangan tergantung derajat keparahan, antibiotik Amoxicillin 500 mg dan Chlorpeniramine maleat 4 mg dengan dosis masing-masing 50 mg dan 2 mg,diberikan secara oral 2 kali sehari selama 5 hari. Evaluasi pada hari ke-7 (tujuh) kondisi hewan menunjukkan adanya perbaikan. Kata-kata kunci : batuk, ascariasis, larva migran, anjing ABSTRACT A 3 month old basset hound named Roxy has respiratory problems, cough and nose with serous exudates. The dog also emaciation and enlarged abdomen. The physical examination, cough reflexes appears when pharynx palpated and the dog act to expel something from his mouth and examination of stool, found eggs of Toxocara sp. Haematological examination part found normochromic microcytic anemia, leukocytosis, lymphocytosis and eosinophilia. The dog are diagnosed with pneumonia because Toxocara sp. larva migration. The treatment with Pyrantel pamoat (Combantrin®) 25 mg/ml given 5 ml once for a month, repetition depends on the degree of severity, amoxicillin 500 mg and chlorpeniramine maleate 4 mg, with doses of 50 mg and 2 mg is given twice a day, for five days. The evaluation after 7th day of the condition of the animal showed an improvement. Keywords : cough, ascariasis, migrant larvae, dog
