Adequate population in terms of quality and number will promote economic growth, this can be achieved through proper education and training. A negative stigma that appears in the society tends to blame higher education community in particular as one of the causes of high educated unemployment rate. There is an idle time lag for graduates of Faculty of Economics and Business Udayana University (FEB UNUD) between applying for a job until landing in the first job known as frictional unemployment. Incompatibility in competency of high education graduates in responding to labor market demand for dynamic workforce allegedly contributes to the high rate of educated unemployment in the community. On the other hand social economic status will affect one's lifestyle and indirectly form a standard in finding and choosing a job. High social economic status usually sets a high standard in job selection. Certain types of jobs prioritize physical appearance in their recruitment processes. Assessment of physical appearance in job recruitments can be an obstacle for some graduates in findng desired jobs. This research aims to comprehensively examine the effects of social economic status, competency and physical appearance and to determine the variable with the most influence on job waiting time for FEB Unud alumni. All competencies (main competency, supporting and others) are proxied by alumni's GPA, mastery of technology and foreign languages. Social economic status is represented by age, family income, sex, and area of land owned by an alumni’s family. Physical appearance which is often considered in job openings becomes an interesting aspect to study. Primary data is used in main estimation, with samples from FEB Unud alumni for the last 3 years. Estimation is performed by using multiple linear regression model with independent variable in form of dummy. Estimation results provide a comprehensive picture of the factors affecting the job waiting time for FEB Unud alumni, thus a reference for the faculty, especially FEB Unud in constructing curriculum and improving learning process at faculty level to produce high quality output/graduates and meeting the needs of a dynamic job market. The results of this research can also serve as a reference for FEB Unud alumni in improving their competence as well as provide an overview when entering an increasingly complex and competitive job market.
