Abstrak

The purpose of this study was to determine the freshness of roses at room temperature. The treatment in this study was to use soft drink solution (sprite brand) with concentrations of 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50%. Observations were made every two days for 16 days. The parameters observed were subjective assessment of the wilting level of rose petals and the change in color of rose petals during storage at room temperature. The results showed that treatment with a soft drink concentration of 40% (S4) can provide the best assessment of roses. The conclusion is that the concentration of 40% soft drinks added to one liter of solution can maintain the freshness of cut flowers for 16 days of cold temperature storage (10 + 1 C).
