Abstrak
Plant extract is one of the developments of biopesticide which is used to support organic agriculture. The purpose of this study is to measure the effectiveness of Piper caninum plant extract combined with Piper betle var. nigra to suppress blast caused by the fungus Pyricularia oryzae in rice plants. This research was carried out in vitro with a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 4 replications. The method used was the diffusion well method and the colony method. The results showed that both extracts were P. caninum and P. betle var. nigra leaf extracts have inhibition of 40 mm and 30 mm respectively against the fungus P. oryzae causing blast disease in rice plants. After having combined the two extracts, the inhibition to fungus P. oryzae, with a zone of 45 mm, was in a greater effect on causing blast disease on rice plants. The combination of the two plant extracts was more effective in inhibiting the fungus P. oryzae that causes blast disease in rice plants. Keywords
