Abstract---Although the potential of Trichoderma sp has been discovered more than 10 decades ago its active application began when organic cultivation especially the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) technique became popular due to concern on the environmental and health effect of the conventional method using synthetic fertilizer and pesticides. The use of Trichoderma as a biological agent to combat rice blast disease caused by Pyricularia oryzae fungus became active only recently and in fact quite surprisingly, some products are already commercially available. However, the fact that the use of local Trichoderma is much preferred prompted us to undertake the study on the antagonism or the inhibitory power against P. oryzae fungal colonies on PDA media. Scanning electron microscopy images also showed the physical coiling that damage the P. oryzae which finally leading to its death. More information is needed to fully understand the mechanism. Invivo greenhouse study based on the inhibition data to depress blast showed a significant improvement in the growth of rice.Pyricuaria oryzae that causes the basal disease in rice. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates were conducted in biopesticide laboratory of Udayana University. Laboratory results showed that Trichoderma sp extract at 1% and 4% concentration were able to inhibit 80.3% and 87.6% respectively, against. Keywords--- Trichoderma sp, Bali Red Rice, Pyricuaria oryzae.
