UPAYA PENINGKATAN PENGUASAAN KONSEP MATERI KULIAH DASAR PROGRAM STUDI MATEMATIKA MELALUI MASTERY LEARNING MODEL

Abstrak
The needed of tutor for most elementary and senior high school students encourage the students of Mathematics Department at Udayana University, especially for students in the final project (TA). Good judgment of the people (stakeholders) is obtained when the student understanding and mastery of the basic subjects. The basic subjects include the concepts of calculus, matrix-vector, and statistics were understanding with a degree of perfection more than 85%. The purpose of this community service program was to increase the competency of students at Mathematics Department at Udayana University to mastering basic courses include calculus, matrix-vector, and statistics. The method used in this program was presentation, demonstrations, discussions and assignments. Procedure completed the implementation of learning model includes the orientation stage, presentation, structured exercises, guided practice, and independent practice. Evaluation of the program devoted to the provision of pre-test and post test. The successes implementation of this model was measured by increasing the value of learning outcomes and the average increasing the value of the group. Implementation of the mastery learning model was effective to increase the competency of graduate student to understanding the basic subjects concept. The group of the student was perfect, it was indicate the application of mastery learning model very effective to improve students' competency understanding of basic concept. It was also shown from the significant of the difference average value between post-test and pre-test.
