ANNULAR PANCREAS IN NINE MONTHS OLD GIRL

Abstrak

Background: Annular pancreas is a complete encirclement of the second part of the duodenum by pancreatic tissue anatomic abnormality due by incomplete rotation of the left (ventral) pancreatic. Patient usually present in infancy with symptoms of complete of partial bowel obstruction. This incidence of this malformation has been estimated to be 1 in 20.000, and caused of 8-21% of duodenal obstruction Objective: To describe a case of annular pancreas. Cases: We report a nine months old girl with a rare case of annular pancreas. The patient had a bile-stained vomiting few hours after get breastfeeding when she was eight months old. The symptom got worsen along with the time. She had no symptoms before eight months old. Abdominal X-ray showed double bubble sign and the patient suspected by duodenal web. Laparotomy revealed duodenal obstruction by annular pancreas. The duodeno-duodenostomy anastomose was performed to release the duodenum. After being treated, patient stayed 9 days in intermediate ward, and 2 days in regular ward. The patient discharged in good condition.
