Abstrak
Tetanus is an acute toxin-mediated diseases, caused by neurotoxin (tetanospasmin) released by Clostridium tetani that grows rapidly in anaerobic environment, e.g. dirty and necrotic wounds. Severe tetanus manifestations requires mandatory intensive care unit stay. Close monitoring in the intensive care unit ward allows the administrations of medications with narrow safety margin, e.g. magnesium sulphate. This article reports one of the tetanus case in Sanglah, central public hospital’s intensive care unit, that survived through critical phase, and had satisfying outcome.
