Self-medication with antibiotics (SMA) is one type of irrational use of antibiotics. In many countries, the proportion of SMA among medical students was higher than non-medical students. Aim of our study was to study the proportion of SMA, as well as the pattern of SMA and factors related to SMA. Our study was conducted in Udayana University Bali, using analytical cross sectional design. Samples were selected using multistage cluster sampling technique. The result was analyzed with chi square test. Result of our study showed that from 120 subjects in each group, 81 subjects (67.5%) medical students have performed SMA whereas in nonmedical students only 23 subjects (19.2%) (p<0.000).
