Idiom of words basang in balinese language

Abstrak

Idiom as one form of language is a tangible manifestation of the close relationship between language and culture. Balinese Language (BL) has several idioms based on the word basang ‘stomach’. Observation and note taking technique is applied in this study to collect data. The data source is oral speech from daily conversation. This study explains the meaning of idioms which use stomach as part of the body represent a particular purpose, and together produce meanings related to emotions.
