Abstrak
Ratu Pagending temple is located at Pejeng village, Tampaksiring subdistric, Gianyar Regency.The word meaning in the research of Antiquities onArchaeological remainshas 2 concepts, they are (1) why such relics were made and (2) what functions such relics symbolizes. Then this research aims to find out the meaning of such symbolic antiquities on Archaeological remains at Ratu Pagending temples area. Since this temple serves as an irrigation ‘subak’ temple to invoke prosperity that the religious practices held in this temple express the meaning of prosperity.It is due to some symbolic archaeological sculptures found in the temple area symbolizes the features of Shiva that refers to Lord of prosperity. This representation of shiva as Lord of prosperity can be seen from the sculptures that decorated by symbolic sculpture of lingga- yoni. Keywords: Pagending Temple, The Meaning, and Archaelogy
