As a diverse nation, we must formulate such diverse local wisdom to then be used as a guide in managing national and state life. Local wisdom as a regional characteristic in the archipelago in general has the same common thread throughout the archipelago so that based on local wisdom it is expected that we will be able to explore the national identity that is more rooted in ancestral civilization. Various ways in the form of local wisdom, in Bali are generally written in literary works (in this context Balinese literature) both in oral and written form. The ancestral Balinese civilization that can be donated to civilization, especially in terms of arousing a work ethic is the concept of "humiliating self". Out of this humble attitude, sincere service to the community will emerge. Key words: humble, work ethic, Balinese literature
