Abstrak
Abstract Old Javanese language (OJL) is a language that rich of morpheme as forming word. The process implicates to syntactic process. One of syntactic alternation is a causative. Causative is one valence -raising mechanism in the structure of the clause. This study aims to describe completely of formal causative in OJL. Causative in OJL morphologically marked on the verb. Causative verbs can be formed from non - causative, as adjectival and basic verbs. In OJL there are three types of causative such as morphological, lexical and analytic causative. Morphological causative has formed by affixes like mang- / ng + -i , paha- + -in-, -um- + -akên (a), infix -um-, and -in - / - an, -in- ( in the passive voice). Lexical causative is the basic form which has a causative meaning. Analytic causative formed by adding verb form gawe, matangyan, and hetu. Intransitive verb clause is diathesis patientive. Clause transitive verb has two macro roles, namely actor and undergoer. When the merger of two macro situation is happening into a single macro situation particles connected by conjunction: sawet, matangyan, apan, and karana.
