UPAYA MASYARAKAT DALAM PENEGAKAN HUKUM TERHADAP PENCEMARAN AIR SUNGAI AKIBAT PEMBUANGAN LIMBAH

The environment is a reciprocal relationship media between living beings and inanimate objects which is a unified whole, and men were inside. With the vagaries of the human that can affect the environment (they can pollute, destroy or preserve the environment). Environmental pollution as formulated in the definition of article 1 point 12 Regulations No. 23 of 1997 about the management of the environment is the "environmental pollution is the inclusion or included of any living being, substances, energy, and/or other components into the environment by human activities so that the quality is going down to the level of a particular cause of environment may not work in accordance with Its functions. One of the environmental pollution that the most frequently encountered is the pollution of the river that occurs because of the waste disposal that done by humans. The purpose of this writing is to know the cause of the community dispose of waste into the river and know the remedy can be done to tackle water pollution of the river. By using the methods of normative found that the cause of community waste into the river is because of the lack of awareness from the community itself and also the unavailability of place for waste disposal. Legal efforts which undertaken to tackle community water pollution of the river are through the preventive efforts and repressive efforts.
