Physiological Response of Bali Cattle on Anesthetic of Ketamine and Propofol
Surgery cannot be performed if anesthesia has not yet been
performed, so anesthesia is a very important step in surgery. General anesthesia
that is often used and declared quite safe in animals is inhalation anesthesia.
Injection and inhalation general anesthesia in Bali cattle has several
disadvantages such as limited peripheral blood vessels and anatomical form of
the larynx which becomes difficult in trachea intubation (Geovanini et al,
2008). With the above difficulties, the combination of intramuscular and
intravenous anesthesia is one of the anesthetic solutions (Gunanti et al, 2011)
The purpose of this study was to determine the dose, time of anesthesia, and
physiological response of Balinese cattle to anesthesia ketamine, propofol and
their combination (ketafol).
