PSTEP Student Involvement in the Implementation of FSVA Map Compilation Project in Tabanan Regency 2019
The development of the field of food security is one of the development priorities in Tabanan in the context of realizing the vision of a healthy, intelligent and outstanding HR in their respective fields so that in turn a prosperous and safe Tabanan is also established (Tabanan SERASI). Efforts to improve community food security are aimed at fulfilling basic services to the community, covering at least four types of services, namely the availability and availability of food, distribution and access to food, diversification and food security and handling food insecurity. In order to fulfill the intended basic service obligations as well as efforts to strengthen community food security towards sustainable food independence, an activity is needed to analyze the current status of food security of each village within the district area. The results of this analysis are then presented as a District Food Security and Vulnerability Atlas. Starting from this, the Tabanan Regency's Food Security Service in collaboration with the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Udayana University carried out the Food Security and Vulnerability Atlas (FSVA) Depreciation Map based on village data that covered 5 (five) subdistrict areas and as many as 60 villages. The results of an assessment of 60 villages in five sub-districts including the Selemadeg, East Selemadeg, West Selemadeg, Kerambitan and Pupuan Districts showed that there were 13 villages (21.7%) with very good food security status (priority score 6) and the remaining 47 villages (78.3%) whose food security status is not yet strong so that there is a need for policy intervention to improve existing conditions. From the aspect of food availability, the main determinant of village food security status is the production capacity of serelia food. Of the 60 villages studied, there were 35 villages (58.3%) with priority score 6, and the remaining priority scores <6 were 25 villages (41.7%).From the aspect of access to food, household access to electricity and the portion of food expenditure do not determine the food security status of the village. The status of village food security is more determined by the number of poor people. Of the 60 villages studied, those that received a priority score of 6 were 13 villages (21.7%), and priority scores <6 there were 47 villages (78.3%). Whereas in terms of food utilization, life expectancy, population access to clean water, and stunting toddlers are not the main determinants of the village's food security status. Village food security status is more determined by the availability of health workers. Of the 60 villages studied, those who received a priority score of 6 were 30 villages (50.0%), and those who received a priority score <6 were as many as 30 villages (50.0% ). Judging from the average length of schooling of women, of the 60 villages studied, those who received priority score 6 were 7 villages (11.7%), while the remaining 53 villages (88.3%) had priority scores <6. The results of the composite assessment showed that of the 60 villages studied, which received priority score of 6 there were 13 villages (21.7%), priority score 5 there were 16 villages (26.7%), priority score 4 there were 17 villages ( 28.3%), priority score 3 there are 1 village (1.7%), priority score 2 there are 3 villages (5.0%) and priority score 1 there are 10 villages (16.7%).There are 10 villages with food security status that are vulnerable to food insecurity, namely Pupuan Sawah Village (Selemadeg District), Lumbung Kauh Village (Selemadeg Barat District), Mundeh Village (Selemadeg Barat District), Mundeh Kangin Village (Mundeh Kangin Village) Selemadeg Barat Subdistrict), Mundeh Kauh Village (Selemadeg Barat Subdistrict), Tista Village (Kerambitan Subdistrict), Belatungan Village (Pupuan Subdistrict), Kebon Padangan Village (Pupuan Subdistrict), Munduk Temu Subdistrict (Pupuan Subdistrict), and Sai Village (Pupuan Subdistrict).
