Abstrak
This book is dedicated
to the veterinary students for understanding the pathology of the respiratory
system through macroscopic and microscopic observations, to be able to make
morphological diagnoses in cases of animal death involving the respiratory
system. This book is expected to be a guide for students of the Faculty of
Veterinary Medicine, who are currently and will be taking Veterinary Systemic
Pathology courses as well as those attending Veterinary Professional Education.
The material of this book is mostly extracted from the textbook "Special
Veterinary Pathology" especially in terms of classification and
nomenclature of the lesion (damage) and combined with supporting information in
the form of case examples taken from international scientific journals. Some
specific lesion images were taken from veterinary pathology journals and pages
as well as the author's documentation. This book is presented in several
chapters. Chapter I reviews the general understanding to equate perceptions and
briefly reviews the physiology, anatomy, and histology of the respiratory
system in mammals and poultry and the rules for structuring lesions. In Chapter
II, the defense mechanism that protects the alveolar is presented.
In Chapters III, IV, V, and VI, the pathology of the nasal and sinus cavities,
pharynx, larynx, and trachea, bronchi and bronchioles and lungs is successively
described. The final part (Chapter VII) discusses specific pneumonia caused by
viruses and bacteria that are commonly found. Most of the naming of lesions has
not been translated into Indonesian to familiarize students with medical terms
