This book is designed to assist agricultural scientists and
agricultural extension workers in diagnosing common field diseases caused by
fungi, bacteria, viruses, mycoplasmas, nematodes and parasitic flowering
plants. Field symptoms for each disease are described and explained. It is important
to understand that the diagnosis of the disease is based on the pattern that
occurs and microscopic symptoms are very many cases even if only temporary, and
to distinguish diseases with field symptoms that are close to similar,
microscopic testing of diseased tissue and body structure of pathogens is
needed.
