Abstrak
Abstract The teachings of susila is a guidance of a good
behavior. Susila is derived from words “su” and “sila”. “Su” means good, and
“sila” means behavior. According to the Large Indonesian Language
Dictionary (KBBI), susila means good in the language;
civilized; polite. Susila is very important to know because its function as a
basis for behaving in living everyday life. The purpose of the teachings of
susila is to teach humans to always behave well, in order to foster a
harmonious relationship between fellow beings. Susila is much contained in
traditional literary works, including ancient Javanese literary works. One of
the Javanese literary works which leads to the teachings of susila namely The Song
of Tantri Kĕdiri, especially in the episodes of The Heron and A Herd of Fish.
This episode illustrates the camouflage of a Heron to deceive its prey. This
story educates the reader to think critically (thorough) in accepting something
so as not to over-believe easily. So that they can avoid things that are not
true. This story also guides readers to be careful in choosing friends and always be kind and be helpful to each other. There are two
topics in this study, namely (1) How the form of discourse of susila are
contained in the text?, and (2) How the context of discourse of susila are in
society?. The theory used to solve the main problems is the theory of discourse
by Teun A. Van Dijk which emphasized the structure of discourse, cognition and
context.
