Coffee has changed its image, is no longer synonymous as a drink among parents, now coffee is also the belle of young people. In essence, enjoying a cup of coffee has become a tradition for the people of Indonesia when gathering, during a celebration, or even friends while working.Along with the development of technology, coffee has varied a lot both in terms of processing and presentation. Even now, coffee has been processed into many beauty products, processed cakes and made into fragrances. Because of that, now coffee has been able to captivate the tongue of young people as well as a new life style in many circles.In line with this, coffee consumption in Indonesia continues to show good development every year, according to the Association of Indonesian Coffee Exporters and Industries (AEKI) estimates of coffee consumption in Indonesia in 2016 reached 300,000 tons or 1.15 kg per capita per year.Not only marketed domestically, coffee produced by Indonesia has penetrated into foreign countries. In 2017, Indonesia's coffee exports experienced an increase of 17.71 percent to USD 1.18 billion from 2016 worth USD 1 billion. In statistical publications, Indonesian Coffee Statistics 2017, published by the Central Statistics Agency in 2016, the largest importers of Indonesia's natural coffee are the United States, Germany, Malaysia, Italy and Russia.Indonesia as the 4th largest coffee producer in the world is one of the countries with abundant coffee wealth, a variety of soil types and ways of processing coffee in each region producing a variety of flavors of Indonesian coffee as well. Bali Coffee is one of the stars among the diversity of coffee richness in Indonesia, because it has a distinctive fresh sour aroma and taste.The specialty of Balinese coffee is that it is developed with the intercropping technique with fruits. Bali Coffee has also become one of the leading agro industries in Bali. Coffee is a very promising commodity because the addictive nature of coffee makes it hard for the audience to leave this bitter taste drink. No doubt, now the coffee shop business is much loved by young business people in Bali.In Bali, two types of coffee are developed, Arabica and Robusta coffee. According to data from the Central Statistics Agency, the area of Arabica coffee plantations in Bali in 2018 increased 1.47 percent compared to the previous year to 12,410 ha, where in 2017 it only reached 12,230 ha. The regency that was ranked first with the largest planted area of Arabica coffee plantations was Bangli Regency with an area of 5,886 ha.Meanwhile, robusta coffee species actually experienced a decrease in planting area in 2018 to 22,800 ha, whereas in 2017 the area of robusta coffee plantation planting area reached 22,970 or decreased by 0.74 percent. The regency with the largest planting area for Robusta coffee in Bali is Buleleng with a planting area of 10,473 ha.There is one interesting thing that happened in a coffee farm in Bali. When viewed in terms of production, Arabica coffee which previously in 2017 produced only 3,473 tons, in 2018 increased rapidly to reach 4,217 tons or an increase of 21.42 percent.
